Curriculum
Burton Road Primary School has started to follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which is a new exciting approach to topic work.
Parents testimonials
Rainforest (Year 3 and 4)
" I really enjoyed watching the rainforest assembly as it gives me as a parent an insight as to what the children are learning within the school environment, and lets you see exactly what the children have to put together, when the come home talking about 'the rainforest.' I also think it is a great idea to introduce something different into the curriculum rather than the general day to day work. I think it also makes children more interested in school work when they are taking on a variety of topics and activities. "
Chocolate (Year 3 and 4)
" It has been a lovely topic. My child has been really enthusiastic about it which has been great to see. I really enjoyed coming in for the film festival. It's really great to be able to get involved in what the children are doing. It has lead to both my child and the rest of the family taking a renewed interest in Roald Dahl book. Many thanks to you all. "
Making the News (Year 5 and 6)
" My child really enjoyed this topic. She listened to the news on TV, looked on the Internet and read the papers. She looked on the Internet again to research and also via newspapers. "
