Superpowers Dance
We have started learning some choreography for a superhero dance. This is the first part we learned this week. By the end of term, we should have it all put together.
Ragtime Style Music
We learned that Bare Necessities is a type of Jazz called Ragtime Style Music. During the song, we found some syncopation and the children clap along to the part in syncopation to show that it is off the beat of the song.
Call and Response
As part of our Jazz topic in Music, we looked at traditional jazz music and their use of call and response. We learned to play the song When the saints go marching in on glockenspiels and then split the class into two halves trying our own version of a bit of call and response.
