Class 11

Remote Learning

As you are aware, unfortunately our year 6 bubble has had to close and children will be accessing their learning remotely until Wednesday October 21st. Our on-line lessons will be launched on Monday 12th October via class dojos. Each day, there will be a welcome from me and an outline of the activities for that day.

Sessions will be set on SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar), Literacy, Maths, a topic challenge and some extra fun activities to try, such as P.E. There will be a video introducing the learning and a set task that children can complete in their homework books ( the literacy book will be available to collect from the school foyer).

You will be able to contact me for any help and advice via class dojos, but please just do your best! Any work should be shared with me via your child's portfolio on class dojos or via a message, so I can praise your successes and offer any further feedback to help you progress even more!

Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

WELCOME TO CLASS 11 YEAR 6!

*Learning is engaging, inspiring, rewarding, challenging and fun!*

Dear Class 11,

I hope you and your families have enjoyed the summer break and that you are all well, rested but now ready to rock year six! It's been a strange year, and I know it has been a while since some have you have been to Burton Road. But please do not worry! We have got some exciting learning opportunities all set up to welcome you back and to settle us all into our new routines and classes. Whilst we polish up our key subjects and skills, we also have team building challenges, creative arts, sports, time to talk and much more planned, so our class will soon be buzzing with life, just as it should be! We've also got the most exciting class novel to start - and this time, it won't make me cry!

Myself, Mrs Atkinson and Mr Hawksworth cannot wait to get to meet you all properly and find out all about what makes you special. I'd love you to share any of your lockdown experiences or work with me. We will continue to share our learning on this page, as well as Class Dojos, which will be set up on your return to school. Stay posted as there will be a sneaky peek of our classroom here on on Thursday 27th August, but until then, enjoy the rest of your holiday and I'll see you, bright and bubbly (in our bubble!) and ready to learn!

Mrs Conway, Mrs Atkinson and Mr Hawksworth xx

Welcome home! Here's a sneak preview of your classroom, all ready and waiting for you! Can you guess any of our topics?

Want a head start on our art topic? Try and head out into the countryside and appreciate the beauty around you, like our famous Barnsley bred artist!
