  • Covid Reminder About Meeting Outside School

    Wed 27 Jan 2021
Please remember that children aren't able to meet up with friends outside of school, even if they're in the same school bubble.

We know this time is hard and everyone will be missing socialising with their friends, but we all need to do our bit to help stop the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Keeping in touch with friends and family is really important - video/phone calls, text messaging and sending cards or letters are great ways to do this whilst staying safe.

  • Free School Meals Food Parcels

    Wed 13 Jan 2021

    School Meals Food Parcels

Further to the recent media coverage regarding the standard of food parcels being distributed to children qualifying for free school meals, I would like to take this opportunity to confirm that Burton Road Primary School is extremely unhappy with the contents of the parcels supplied, and find them to be completely unacceptable.

Therefore, we will be taking control of the situation, and will be ensuring that any future parcels, supplied to any of our families will be supplemented by the school.

In addition, we can also arrange for an extra emergency food parcel delivery from Barnsley Food Bank, for any families who find themselves to be struggling.  If you feel that this will be of help, please contact Mrs Lisa McNicholas who will liaise with the food bank on your behalf.

Mrs McNicholas can be contacted, in confidence, via the following e-mail:  l.windsor@burtonrdps.org

  • Key Worker Application Form

    Tue 05 Jan 2021

    Good Morning

If you are a Key Worker and require a school place for your child during lockdown, please complete the application form sent via e mail, and submit supporting evidence confirming you are a Key Worker.  Please note families who submitted this form in March do not need to resubmit.

Please note that school should only be used as a last resort, and only on days when Key Workers are at work, and should stay at home wherever possible.  Numbers will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.  We would ask that you do not request a place if your child can stay at home.

Also, the Government guidance does allow a family with children under the age of 14 to form a childcare bubble (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/making-a-hildcare-bubble-with-another-household).  This allows friends or family from one other household to provide informal childcare.

    Kindest Regards

    Burton Road Primary School
