Class 3

Welcome to Class 3

We are looking forward to seeing you in Class 3. We have lots of exciting things planned for this year and some fabulous topics to start off the term.

Do not worry about returning to school, we will all be looking after each other and talking about anything that we find is worrying us. It may be strange to start a new class if you haven't been in school for a while but we will do our best to make sure the start of the year is as worry free as it can be and we will get into our new routines in no time.

First, we are going to be practising our art skills and producing a finished piece of art work to display in the classroom and our topic is 'Brilliant Barnsley.'

We can't wait to meet you all on Wednesday 2nd September and hear about all of the things that you have been doing over the Summer holidays.

Our amazing start to Class 3

What a great start to Year 1 Class 3. We are all so impressed with your work this week. We have written about our Summer holidays and found out more about each other from our 'All about me' work.

We have decided the things that we are good at and the things that we would like to get better at and set ourselves a goal for the end of the year.

Ashley Jackson

We have completed some amazing art work over the last few weeks. We have learnt about watercolours, shading by adding more water to the paint and different brush strokes. We learnt about primary and secondary colours and had ago at mixing colours. We looked at the work of Ashley Jackson and found out some facts about him.

Big Brave Bill

We has a special visitor overnight who left some of his belongings behind. We had to work out who they belonged to.

Then we found a message on the board from a character called Big Brave Bill.
Making superhero masks like Big Brave Bill.

Design technology

Class 3 have been able to take part in DT sessions from Hepp DT making a coal cart to link in with our Brilliant Barnsley topic.

Handa’s Surprise

We have been reading the story by Eileen Browne. We made our own actions and thought about how to add in information. We even tasted the seven delicious fruits Handa put in her basket for her friend Akeyo.
