As we welcome children into school, it is important to first recognise, value and celebrate what they already know. 

From this we can determine what they need next and decide the  best ways to support children in their reading at Burton Road.

What we offer for catch up in reading:

• Daily reading (one-to-one)
• Daily phonics at their level, plus reinforcement throughout the day
• Phonics sent home to reinforce the learning of the daily sound
• Nessy
• Comprehension  reading clubs for older children
