'Centre of Excellence Status'-Events and Visits

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a status as a 'Centre of Excellence for Physical activity (Events and Visits) by Yorkshire Sport Foundation.

Matthew Harris- 'we are delighted to receive this recognition for our sporting excellence. As a school we have had a long term commitment to a breadth of sporting opportunities as we believe that is profound effect on children's life chances, well-being and attainment.'

'I would like to thank Mr Hawksworth for all this passion, dedication and commitment in taking our sports offer to the next level and facilitating this achievement.'

Gymnastics

Continuing sport outside school. Our Y6 pupil, competed at the Yorkshire Zinc Classic Challenge competition. She came 2nd in Vault & 14th All Around. This girl has been a great role model to are younger generation by helping them prepare for their competitions. Well done.

Congratulations to our very own Mr Hawksworth for completing The Great North Run in an amazing time of 1hr 47min.

These boys went to Barnsley tables Tennis Club and know signed up as members. Great to see young children trying new sports.

More KS1 children continuing sport outside school. We are really proud of what they are achieving especially after the circumstances the last couple of years.

Proud of all these super stars being successful outside school. Fantastic achievement Burton Road want to celebrate your success not just in school but also outside of school. Bring your sports awards in so we can present these in an assembly.
