Class 8
Welcome to Class 8!
'The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you'll go.' - Dr Seuss
Hello! I hope you and your family have had a great summer. Mrs Key, Mrs Cooper and I cannot wait to welcome you back to school next week. We know it's been a while since some of you have been in school, but don't worry we are all waiting to give you a warm welcome and we have lots of exciting things in store for you.
During the first couple of weeks we will become budding artists and learn all about a local artist from Barnsley - Ashley Jackson. We will participate in lots of fun activities as well as having time to talk and work as a team. We will also begin our new topic which is all about The Stone Age and how people lived in Barnsley during this time.
As well as being artists and learning about The Stone Age we will also be brushing up on our Literacy and Numeracy skills. Don't worry if you have forgotten a few things during lockdown, we can revisit these skills and facts during our first few weeks. I have already chosen a book for us to study as part of our Literacy learning and we will also be starting a new class novel, so there's lots to look forward to.
In Class 8 we like to make learning challenging and get our brains working, but we also like to make it fun, enjoyable and interesting. If it gets too challenging, myself, Mrs Key and Mrs Cooper are always on hand to help you along the way.
We are looking forward to hearing your lockdown stories and experiences. Maybe some of you learnt a new skill or have an interesting tale to tell us. During lockdown I engaged in gardening more than I've ever done before and I've even been helping out my Dad with his allotment - which involved cleaning out chickens too - YUK!
So please don't worry at all about returning to school. It will be lovely to be back with your old friends and great to make some new ones too. We look forward to getting to know you all properly.
See you all next Tuesday, bright and breezy!

Hi everyone! I have been so impressed with all the hard work you have been doing! Keep it up and keep sharing!
I'm afraid for some reason my videos won't upload to You Tube tonight so I'm just putting this message on instead. I'll put the Powerpoint below which outlines your activities for the day! I will try again tomorrow to upload my videos.
Have a great day everyone and remember to message if you need me.
