Class 10
Welcome to Class 10
"We are growing, learning and achieving everyday."
Miss Charlesworth and Miss Beasley are our teachers in Class 10.
This year we have lots of exciting learning planned and we can't wait to get started.
As always, we are keen readers in Class 10. We love to hear what books you have read and are always eager to hear what books you recommend so please make sure you keep reading both in school and at home.
Our PE days are Monday with Mr Hawksworth and Thursday with Miss Charlesworth so please make sure you come to school in your full PE kit on these days.
Literacy - Persuasive Writing
This week we are focusing on persuasive writing. We are linking our writing to our Geography topic (which is about Asia) and creating a brochure to persuade people to visit Malaysia. We started by researching Malaysia and then we looked at some different pieces of persuasive writing to see which features we would need to include in our own work.
Science - Light
As part of our new science topic, we made human models to show how light helps us to see. We used string to show the straight lines which light travels in.
Literacy - Descriptive Writing
We have started off the new year with some fantastic descriptive writing for the setting, Pandora. We really enjoyed creating a word bank of fantastic features which we could include in our main writing piece.
Field for the British Isles- this week Class 10 have had a go at using their sketching skills to capture this amazing piece of art work created by our artist of interest, Antony Gormley.
Class 10 have had a great time this week in DT finalising their designs and testing out their creations in the hall.
This week we have loved using the clay to replicate some of the figures created by Antony Gormley in his- Field for the British Isle sculpture.
